Cross Rythms Review - Piercing The Darkness15 August 08
Kairos received a great review from Paul S Ganney from Cross Rhythms:
This six-track CD grows on you as it progresses. By the end of the first track (“Break The Cycle”) you find you’re listening to it far more than you thought you would when it started. Why is this? I’m not really sure – it could be the pop of the rock, or the rock in the pop, maybe the vocals start to get through, maybe the lyrics start to make sense (and they make more sense than several things I’ve heard this year) and when the title track fires in it’s with a pure ’80s synth hook, except it’s sung. Throughout, it’s solid guitars, clear vocals, unfussy drumming, uncluttered background fills, well constructed songs and then a bit more. If you like the idea of power pop new wave post-punk (Eh? Editor) brought up to date with the occasional Beatles-ish melody line, then you’ll like this.
KAIROS moves from 4 piece to 5 piece 7 July 08
Kairos now has been a band for 18 months, and it has been a great first 18 months. We’ve had some roller coaster gigs, some of them have been great, some not so great, but we have loved the journey and experience so far. We are only just beginning.
So now, we are very pleased to announce that we have added to the band. Please welcome Mr Jonatas Neves on keys. Wow that nearly rhymes! Jonatas is originally from Portugal (oh we love the Portuguese!!) and he’s in his early twenties. But, it doesn’t end there.
Mr Matt Buck, who has been the KAIROS drummer since we started last year, is moving with his wife away to the Leeds area, and will be greatly missed by the rest of us. Thanks Matt for putting in the hard work over the past 18 months, you’ve helped us get off to a great start.
So who is the new drummer then? Well, believe it or not our new Mr Jonatas Neves on keys didn’t pop out of the oven by himself, he was closely followed by his twin brother. Please welcome Mr Jon Neves on drums.
We have known these two lads for the past few years since they moved to Norwich from Portugal almost 7 years ago. They are great guys to be around, great hearts and great attitudes. The perfect ingredients for building a great band.
So here’s to the next 18 months, what a journey it will be. It’s still only just beginning.
Aaron, Tim, Mark, Jon and Jonatas.

Studio Update 1....29 January 08
Studio Update 1….
Heres the first studio update, I’m not sure why we are doing these, i think it helps us psychologically, thinking that we have loads of fans. (The few of you that are out there, we love you!) It’s handy as a band that we have our own studio to practise in, write and craft our songs in and to record in, its a true blessing. We wouldn’t be where we are without it. Tonight we just learned a new song that had been written, and recorded it so we could all listen to it during the week (we are all in full time jobs) and then come back to make any changes that want.
The new songs are coming together quite nicely now, and we have the title track pretty much complete, and we are really happy with. The title of the album will be made known soon.
We really appreciate all your messages and emails that are encouraging to us, its those that helps us keep pursing the passion we have inside of us to do this.
Keep checking back for more studio/album updates. We plan on releasing it in time for summer. Until next time, keep the dream alive…..AP
