Kairos are a band that uses melodic hooks, with soaring melodies, and life challenging lyrics to get across its message. All wrapped up in a passionate, rock indie style of power surging through their veins, ready to go at every opportunity.
Background
KAIROS began as a group of life-long friends who had always dreamt of playing together in a band, but the timing was never right. They all learnt their musical abilities at a young age playing in their local church. In early 2007 the Ultimate Showcase was the perfect opportunity for the guys to get together and actually put their dream into action.
It was all put together in a rush, really. The songs were written and recorded, merchandise ordered and press pictures taken before they had even played together as KAIROS. They had made it to the final as one of the top six bands in the UK, out of over 125 bands. Their first time playing as KAIROS was on live TV that was broadcasted around the globe as part of the showcase. Even though it was just the one song and a brief interview, the guys seemed to be fusing together quite nicely. The Showcase final was broadcasted again on TV, along with the other five contestants. Nerves were showing and the guys played together for the second time with a slightly longer set of two songs.
What really gave KAIROS an advantage before they had even taken the stage was the over 100 screaming fans that had traveled over three hours on two coaches to support them. The guys nervously took the stage, with their fans providing enough energy to power a small city, and KAIROS took home the 1st prize.
KAIROS had won a national competition and hadn’t even played their first gig yet! The prize was to open for America's Toby Mac and top 20-chart topping Delirious at Alton Towers, where over 8,000 people decided to show up for the event on the 5th of May. KAIROS, with nerves to the max, played their first set and they have been getting invites and gigs ever since.
